Biography

Dr. Siebelmann is consultant at the Department of Ophthalmology of the University Hospital of Cologne. In addition to his clinical duties, he is also as associate professor responsible for the supervisions of both undergraduate and doctoral students. He furthermore organizes his research group’s laboratory and gives lectures for medical students and nurse trainees. He is also a refractive surgeon at CareVision Germany.

Dr. Siebelmann received his MD from the University of Lübeck in 2013 and his doctoral degree from the University of Cologne in 2019. He completed a residency at the department of ophthalmology at the University Hospital of Cologne and became a Fellow of the European Council of Ophthalmology in 2019. He is currently enrolled in the Health Business Administration Master’s program at the Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen-Nürnberg.

Dr. Siebelmann is an active member of several national and international societies and founding member of the German society for 3D Printing in Medicine. He held many talks during national and international conferences, is member of the editorial board of the “Karger Kompass Ophthalmologie” and reviewer for several international high-impact journals. In addition, Dr. Siebelmann was very early, already during his medical studies, member of the university’s research committee and of the committee for the promotion of young scientists. Moreover, he received several grants and successfully applied for different fundings. In addition, he introduced three new, international patents in the area of his specialization. He also established several national and international research cooperations. Moreover, he is leading and organizing the German Registry for keratoprosthetics.
