24 February 2024 marks the second year since the beginning of the war in Ukraine.

The U.S. National Academy of Sciences and its global partners are supporting Ukrainian science and scientists through our long-term grant program for researchers, one of several initiatives to sustain Ukrainian science and prepare for post-war recovery. Learn more here and watch the U.S. NAS video:

The NAS video highlights the importance of international collaboration in sustaining Ukrainian research efforts and sheds light on the fact that in many countries of the world, scientists remain threatened, persecuted, at risk and prevented from doing their work. As part of its broader endeavors, IAP champions the "Science in Exile" project, which aims to provide support and resources for scientists displaced by conflict.

Through this initiative, IAP seeks to establish networks of support, ensuring that at-risk scientists receive the assistance needed to continue their work. Read more about the project here.
