Biography

Nattapon Panupinthu currently held positions as Lecturer at the Department of Physiology and a member of Center of Calcium and Bone Research (COCAB) at Faculty of Science, Mahidol University. He teaches endocrine physiology to undergraduate students in health science, such as medical and nursing students, graduate students in physiology and other biomedical fields. His academic responsibilities also include giving advice to medical students with academic, health and occasionally, some sensitive issues and participating in recruitment of potential students for the Ph.D.-M.D. program for the next generation of Thai physicians. At COCAB, Dr. Panupinthu conducts scientific research and supervises graduate students in the field of calcium and bone metabolism. His works involve planning and establishing foundation and technical platform for pre-clinical animal research, which is the first keystone for phase I/II clinical trials (e.g., development of drug and nutraceutical products). Dr. Panupinthu also serves as Director and Occupational Health and Safety Advisor at Central Animal Facility, Faculty of Science, Mahidol University. He oversees animal care and use program across the campus, sets up policies for the use of research animals and ensures that international standards for both animal welfare and human health are met.
